Cancer Support Groups

Cancer changes everything. Feelings of fear, anger and sadness can make healing even harder. Being a cancer survivor and therapist, my hope is to help others find meaning, peace and support from diagnosis to survivorship.

What type of therapy?

No matter the approach, you are in the drivers seat. With Narrative therapy you can explore the stories of the past that influence your present. With Cognitive Behavioral therapy you can begin to take back control of your thoughts and behaviors. With modalities such as art therapy, parts work, mindfulness you can learn to trust yourself again. Using Somatic EMDR can help you understand what your body is communicating to you and form new, more positive ideas about who you are. In therapy you will have a place that matches your needs each step of the way.

What is Somatic EMDR?

Somatic EMDR is a gentle and effective therapy that helps you heal from past emotional pain and trauma by working with both your mind and your body.

Traditional EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) uses things like eye movements or tapping to help the brain process difficult memories. Somatic EMDR adds another important layer—paying attention to how your body feels during the process. This might include noticing tension, breathing patterns, or areas where you feel discomfort or calm.

By including the body in the healing process, Somatic EMDR can help you:

  • Feel more connected to yourself

  • Release stuck emotions

  • Calm your nervous system

  • Move through difficult memories without feeling overwhelmed

Sliding scale offered on a limited basis.

I am not “in network” with any insurance at this time. Therapy can be paid out of pocket or with HSA/FSA funds. To seek reimbursement from insurance, a superbill can be provided upon request after payment of any session.

If we are good fit, we will meet for 50-minute therapy sessions at a frequency you feel the most comfortable with.

Together we will identify what your goals for therapy will be and work towards them each time we meet.
